THE SCORPIONS To Kick Off Tour Of Eastern Europe
September 24, 2002THE SCORPIONS kick off an extended tour of Russia and Eastern Europe next Monday (September 30th). The 21-show outing starts off in Ekaterinburg, Russia, and includes stops in the Ukraine, Belarus, and Lithuania before closing on November 8th in Riga, Latvia.
Lead guitarist Matthias Jabs recently talked about the tour: "There's only so many adventures left in life, so we're going to play an extensive tour of Russia. We've been there many times — it's nothing new — but it's always been, like, St. Petersburg and Moscow, the two cities that are closer to Europe. But this time, we're going to Siberia, and all these places, like...what's that called, Vladivostok — you could, like, take a boat, and an hour later, you are in Japan, so that's how far away it is — and use the Orient Express, go through Siberia."
THE SCORPIONS has spent much of this year on the road promoting the new "greatest hits" set, Bad For Good: The Very Best Of The Scorpions, released in May via Hip-O Records. In addition to the hits, Bad For Good features two new songs, "Cause I Love You" and "Bad For Good".
